Maldon - a 'Fearless Watercolor'
Painted without preliminary drawing, to get the fresh spontaneous feel that I find so appealing in watercolour. I mainly used a squirrel hair mop brush for this, some rigger details.
This is really beautiful. It's like...one has to really have to LET GO to achieve this. Let go of the neurotic need to "get it right," to "define it," to "get the details," etc. And yet, the result is scrumptious, with everything I love about watercolor - the layering, the suggestions, the immediacy.

Thanks DQ, I feel I am making progress.
