Large venice 18 x 22 with stages of painting

Well, the pictures are in reverse order, but hopefully you can follow the steps. This is my first painting on paper this large (15 x 22") so bit of a risk doing a complex subject. Again using Jeans methods, no drawing. I think I may use a few pencil lines for my next one, I don't think I am at the stage where I can totally be without a preliminary drawing. I dont think the pencil will be very apparent in the finished paintings? I know Jean you may dis-agree!

I like how your paintings are looking like lately. Seams like Jean Haines had a good influence :) Your paintings look more poetic now, they give the impression of a dream, and the colours are more vivid.. Congrats!

Thanks, Jullia! Yes, she certainly has had an influence, she is an Artist really on the way up...
I know I still have a way to go, enjoying the journey!

Roy, I love Venice and I love your painting of San Marco- great looseness and color scheme...this is not an easy subject to paint successfully. Well done!
